Bruh, the benefits system is a total dumpster fire rn. I've been trying to get my claim sorted for MONTHS. Good luck, you're gonna need it 💀
I'm sorry you're going through this stress! The same thing happened to my neighbor last year. Here's what worked for her: she went to the local DCF office in person first thing in the morning with all her paperwork. Sometimes showing up in person gets faster results than calling. If you can't get there, definitely try the online account suggestion others mentioned - there might be a new appointment date already scheduled that you haven't seen yet. Also, document everything with screenshots in case you need to prove what happened. You've got this! 💪
I'm going through the exact same thing right now! Been waiting 6 weeks and getting super anxious about it. One thing that helped me was creating a checklist of all the documents I submitted so I could easily reference them when I finally got through to someone. Also, I've been checking my email AND regular mail daily because apparently they sometimes send updates through both. The waiting is honestly the worst part - you're definitely not alone in feeling frustrated about this process!
6 weeks is so long! I'm only at 2 weeks and already losing my mind 😩 The checklist idea is really smart though - I should do that too. Did you end up getting any updates through email or mail during those 6 weeks, or was it just radio silence the whole time?
@Santiago Martinez That checklist idea is brilliant! I wish I had thought of that when I was going through this mess. It would have saved me so much stress trying to remember what I had already sent them. And yeah, checking both email and regular mail is crucial - they re'so inconsistent with how they communicate. Hang in there, the waiting really is the absolute worst part but you ll'get through it!
I'm in a similar situation - been waiting about 4 weeks now and it's driving me crazy! One thing I discovered is that you can sometimes get updates by texting their automated system. I found the number buried somewhere on their website (I think it was like 67283 or something similar?). You text your case number and sometimes get a status update without having to wait on hold. It's not always helpful but at least it's something! Also, make sure you have your confirmation number from when you submitted - apparently that can help speed things up when you do get someone on the phone. This whole process is so stressful but we'll get through it! 💪

I'm going through the exact same thing right now - applied 5 weeks ago and it's been complete radio silence from DCF! It's so frustrating when you're already in a tough financial situation and then have to deal with this broken system on top of everything else. I've tried calling probably 30+ times but can never get through to an actual person. Reading through all these comments has been both comforting (knowing I'm not the only one) and really concerning (seeing how widespread this problem is). I'm definitely going to try that early morning office visit strategy that @Amun-Ra Azra mentioned - sounds like that's been the most successful approach for getting real answers. It's absolutely ridiculous that we have to take time off work and camp out at government offices just to find out what's happening with our own applications, but if that's what it takes then I guess we don't have much choice. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences and tips - this community support really helps when dealing with such a stressful situation! Hopefully we'll all get our cases resolved soon 🤞

•@StarSurfer I'm so sorry you're dealing with this too! I just joined this community because I'm in the exact same boat - applied 6 weeks ago and still stuck in "pending" status with zero communication. It's honestly mind-blowing how many people are experiencing this same nightmare right now. The fact that you've called 30+ times without getting through really shows how broken the system is. I'm also planning to try that early morning office visit approach that @Amun-Ra Azra shared - seems like showing up in person is the only way to get real answers these days. It s'so unfair that we have to jump through all these hoops when we re'already struggling, but I guess we gotta do what we gotta do. Fingers crossed we all get some movement on our cases soon! This community has been a lifesaver for keeping my sanity during this whole mess 💙

I'm in the same situation - submitted my application 7 weeks ago and it's still showing "pending" with absolutely no updates or communication from DCF! It's so incredibly frustrating when you're already struggling financially and then have to deal with this completely broken system. I've called probably 40+ times and either get disconnected or stuck on hold for hours with no one picking up. Reading through everyone's experiences here has been both helpful and alarming - it's clear this is a massive systemic problem affecting tons of people right now. I'm definitely going to try that early morning office visit strategy that @Amun-Ra Azra mentioned since that seems to be the only thing that actually works for getting real answers. It's absolutely insane that we have to take time off work and camp out at government offices just to get basic information about our own applications, but at this point I'm willing to try anything. Thanks to everyone for sharing their stories and tips - knowing I'm not alone in this nightmare really helps! Hopefully we'll all get some movement on our cases soon 🙏
