EDD sent multiple similar forms - duplicates or separate? Help!

Hey everyone, I just got a bunch of forms in the mail and I'm totally confused. They all look kinda similar but I'm not sure if they're duplicates or if I need to fill out each one separately. Has anyone else dealt with this? I'm worried about messing something up if I don't handle these forms correctly. Any advice on how to figure out what's what?

Ugh, been there done that. The bureaucracy is real šŸ™„ Best thing to do is call them directly and ask. Make sure you have all the forms in front of you when you call so you can describe them accurately.

Good luck getting someone on the phone tho. I've been trying for weeks!

Yeah, the wait times are ridiculous. I usually just put it on speaker and do other stuff while I wait.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

Yeah, it actually does. I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate after trying for days. It saved me hours of waiting on hold.

$20 seems steep just to talk to someone... šŸ¤”

I get that, but for me, it was worth it to finally get my issues resolved. Time is money, ya know?

Here's what I've learned from dealing with similar situations: • First, check the form numbers or titles. They should be different if they serve different purposes. • Look for any instructions that came with the forms. Sometimes they explain which ones you need to fill out. • Pay attention to the dates on the forms. If they're all the same, they might be duplicates. • If there are slight differences, they might be for different aspects of your claim or benefits. • When in doubt, fill them all out. It's better to provide too much info than not enough. • Keep copies of everything you send in! Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Wow, thanks for the detailed response! This is super helpful. I'll definitely double-check the form numbers and dates.

Great advice! I'd add: take pictures of the filled forms before sending them in. Saved my butt when they 'lost' my paperwork once.

Have you tried checking their website? Sometimes they have explanations for different forms there. Might save you a phone call.

Bold of you to assume their website is actually helpful šŸ˜‚

Fair point šŸ˜… But hey, worth a shot before spending hours on hold, right?

I had the same issue last month. Turns out two of my forms were duplicates (they sent them twice by mistake) and the third was a separate thing entirely. Definitely call and ask - better safe than sorry!
