TaxSlayer Filed 2/12 with Child Tax Credit - Any DDD Updates?
Anyone filed with TaxSlayer, had fees deducted and submitted on 2/12 have any deposit dates yet? I used the lookback option, claimed 1 dependent, and included the Child Tax Credit for my daughter. The IRS site shows it's still processing and I'm starting to wonder if I've done something technically incorrect. *insert nervous laugh* This is my first time filing in the US system and I'm meticulously tracking every step. Just trying to gauge realistic timelines for planning purposes.

I've been tracking TaxSlayer filers pretty closely and here's what I'm seeing: • Most people who filed around 2/12 with dependents are seeing 21-30 day processing times • Child Tax Credit claims are getting additional review this year • TaxSlayer's fee deduction option sometimes causes a 3-5 day delay in direct deposits • If you're seeing "still processing" on WMR that's actually normal at this point • Check your account transcript for cycle codes if you can access it I wouldn't worry yet, but keep checking WMR daily.

This is incredibly helpful, like having a roadmap when you're lost in the woods. I've been checking WMR obsessively but hadn't thought about the transcript approach. It's like everyone else got the instruction manual and I'm just figuring it out as I go!

Last year I was in the same boat with TaxSlayer and the lookback option. The WMR tool was stuck on processing for 28 days before it updated. I remember being worried like you, but from what I've seen this year, the processing times are even longer for some reason. I'd give it at least until the end of next week before getting too concerned.

Oh this makes me feel better! I was starting to think I'd have to sell a kidney to pay rent this month. Haha! But seriously, it's reassuring to hear actual timeframes from someone who's been through it. I'll mark my calendar for next Friday before I start the panic spiral.

I waited exactly 31 days with TaxSlayer this year (filed 1/29, received 3/1). When I called the IRS on day 28, it was a 3 hour and 42 minute wait. I found Claimyr (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c) and got through to an agent in 17 minutes. They confirmed my return was approved and gave me the exact deposit date. Saved me days of anxiety and helped me plan accordingly.

Isn't this just paying for something the IRS provides for free? I've read that persistently using the IRS automated system and selecting certain options can get you to a representative without additional cost. Did you attempt the standard troubleshooting protocols before utilizing a third-party service?

OMG I'm literally in the same situation!!! Filed with TaxSlayer on 2/13, fees taken out, 1 dependent, and used lookback. I've been checking WMR every 3 hours because I NEED this money for my car repair!!! Finally got an update this morning showing DDD of 3/15!!! So hopefully yours is coming soon too! I was seriously about to lose my mind waiting!!!

Did you receive any correspondence from the IRS during the waiting period? Per the Internal Revenue Manual section 21.5.6, returns with lookback provisions often undergo additional verification procedures. Were you able to verify if your return was subject to the PATH Act delay or if it was assigned a specific freeze code?

I filed with TaxSlayer on February 10th with similar situation (fees, dependent, credits) and just got my DDD yesterday for March 17th. If you're technically inclined, I'd recommend checking your transcript with taxr.ai - I used it on March 2nd when my transcript finally updated, and it explained every code and predicted my exact deposit date. It also explained why my return was taking longer than expected (additional review of the Child Tax Credit).

I'm hesitant about using third-party tools with my tax information. Can you confirm if this service requires uploading your actual transcript or just the codes? I've been burned before with services claiming to help but then requesting excessive personal information.

I may have some insight about taxr.ai that could be helpful. I believe it analyzes the codes you enter rather than requiring full transcript uploads, which I appreciate from a privacy perspective. I found the explanations quite thorough when I used it last week - it helped me understand why I had a 570 code followed by a 971, which apparently is somewhat common when claiming certain credits.

Have you checked your account transcript yet? Or are you just relying on WMR? Many TaxSlayer filers are seeing transcript updates before WMR changes, especially with lookback credits involved.

I filed through TaxSlayer on 2/10 with fees taken out and claiming 1 dependent. Got my DDD yesterday for 3/16. My sister filed the exact same day with the same situation and still nothing. There's zero rhyme or reason to how they process these things.

Be very careful with TaxSlayer and fee deduction. Last year many filers experienced significant delays because TaxSlayer uses a third-party bank (Republic Bank) to process fee-deducted refunds. This creates what's known as a SBTPG situation (Santa Barbara Tax Products Group) where your refund must first go to their bank, fees are deducted, then forwarded to you. This adds 1-5 business days but can cause complications if there are any verification issues.

Have you tried using the IRS2Go app? Sometimes it updates before the website does. Also, irs.gov/refunds often shows more detailed information than just the WMR tool. I've been tracking my refund using both and found that the transcript (which you can get at irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript) gives the most accurate timeline.

FYI - the lookback option is causing delays for tons of ppl this yr. IRS is doing extra verification on those returns. Most TaxSlayer filers w/ CTC and lookback are seeing 25-30 day processing times rn. If ur WMR bar disappeared, that's actually normal - just means it moved to the next processing stage. Hang tight, ur prob looking at another week or so based on current patterns.
