Amended Return Timeline - How fast does IRS accept amended returns?
Just submitted an amended return and wondering about acceptance timeframes. Anyone know how long it typically takes the IRS to accept an amended return into their system? First time amending and kinda nervous about the whole process.

Tax pro here - typically the IRS takes about 3 weeks to show an amended return as received in their system. However processing time can take up to 16 weeks or more depending on the complexity of your amendment. Keep checking Where's My Amended Return tool on IRS.gov for updates.
