Hey Juan! I'm new to SNAP but just wanted to say don't beat yourself up about this - it's totally not your fault that the mail arrived late! I've been reading through all these responses and it sounds like this happens way more often than any of us realized. The postal service really has been unreliable lately. I love all the specific advice everyone's giving you about having your case number ready and mentioning the postmark date. It seems like the caseworkers are actually pretty understanding about these situations. Wishing you luck with your call tomorrow morning! You've got a whole community here rooting for you. 🤗

Thanks so much, Isaac! It really means a lot to have everyone's support here. You're absolutely right - I was definitely blaming myself for something that was completely out of my control. Reading everyone's experiences has been such a huge relief. I had no idea that mail delays were this common with SNAP letters. It's amazing how this community comes together to help each other out. I'm feeling so much more confident about making that call in the morning now. Will definitely keep everyone posted on how it goes! 🙏

Juan, I just wanted to chime in with some encouragement! I've been on SNAP for about a year now and have had to reschedule twice due to mail issues - once because the letter got delivered to the wrong address, and another time because it arrived the day before my scheduled interview. Both times, the caseworkers were super understanding. One thing I learned is to ask for their direct phone number or extension when you reschedule, so if anything comes up in the future, you don't have to go through the main line again. Also, some offices will email you a confirmation of your new appointment time if you ask, which is really helpful to have as backup. You're handling this exactly right by calling ASAP. The fact that you're being proactive shows you're serious about your benefits, and they appreciate that. Best of luck tomorrow! 🍀

This is such valuable advice, Mikayla! I never would have thought to ask for their direct number - that's genius for avoiding the hold times in the future. And the email confirmation tip is really smart too, especially since we've all learned how unreliable the mail can be! It's so encouraging to hear from someone who's actually had to reschedule multiple times and that it worked out fine each time. Really helps put this whole situation in perspective. I'm definitely going to ask for both the direct number and email confirmation when I call tomorrow. Thanks for sharing your experience! 🙏
