What day does Washington ESD unemployment pay - confused about payment schedule
I'm new to this whole unemployment thing and I'm really confused about when Washington ESD actually pays out benefits. I filed my weekly claim on Sunday like they told me to, but I have no idea what day the money actually hits my account. Some people are telling me Tuesday, others say Wednesday, and I even heard someone say it depends on your bank. Can someone please explain when unemployment payments actually come through? I need to plan my bills around this.

Payments typically process on Tuesday nights and most people see them Wednesday morning. But it can vary by bank - some credit unions show it Tuesday night, bigger banks usually Wednesday.

•Thank you! So if I file Sunday I should see payment by Wednesday? That's actually not too bad.

•yeah thats about right, sometimes thursday if your bank is slow

The official Washington ESD payment schedule is Tuesday night processing for claims filed by Sunday. However, your bank's processing time determines when you actually see the money. Direct deposit is fastest, debit card can take an extra day.

•I have direct deposit set up, so hopefully Wednesday morning it is!

•Wait, what if I file my weekly claim on Monday instead of Sunday? Does that delay everything?

•Filing Monday should still get you in the same payment cycle, but don't make it a habit. The cutoff is usually Monday evening.

I've been calling Washington ESD for weeks trying to get someone to explain their payment schedule because mine have been all over the place. The wait times are insane - literally spent 4 hours on hold yesterday just to get disconnected. Found this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that actually got me through to an agent in like 20 minutes. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ showing how it works. Turns out my payments were delayed because of an adjudication issue I didn't even know about.

Fatima Al-Qasimi
•Wait, what's an adjudication issue? Should I be worried about that?

•It's when they need to verify something about your claim before releasing payments. Could be anything from job separation details to eligibility questions. The agent told me it's pretty common.

•Interesting about that Claimyr thing. How much does it cost?

•They don't publish pricing but it was worth it to actually talk to someone instead of sitting on hold all day.

THE WASHINGTON ESD PAYMENT SYSTEM IS A JOKE!!! I've been waiting 3 weeks for my first payment and they keep telling me different things every time I call. First it was Tuesday, then Wednesday, now they're saying there's some kind of hold on my account but won't tell me what it is!

Dylan Cooper
•That sounds like an adjudication hold. You should have received a notice in your SecureAccess Washington account explaining what they need.

Washington ESD typically processes payments on Tuesday or Wednesday after you file your weekly claim. If you filed Sunday, you should see the deposit by Wednesday or Thursday depending on your bank's processing time.

The payment schedule depends on when you submit your weekly claim. Washington ESD processes claims in batches - if you file early in the week you get paid sooner.

•Good to know! I'll try filing earlier next week to get paid faster.

•I always file mine Sunday night and get paid by Wednesday morning without fail. The system is pretty consistent once you know the timing.

I've been dealing with payment delays for weeks now. Sometimes I get paid Tuesday, sometimes Thursday. The Washington ESD system seems really inconsistent. When I try calling to ask about it, I can never get through to anyone.

•Have you tried using Claimyr? I found it at claimyr.com and it actually got me through to a Washington ESD agent to check on my payment status. There's a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ that shows how it works. Way better than sitting on hold for hours.

Washington ESD payment schedule is Tuesday-Wednesday for most people. However, if there are any issues with your claim like adjudication or verification needed, payments can be delayed significantly. Always check your SecureAccess Washington account for any alerts or required actions.

Just want to add that if you're on standby status, the payment schedule might be different. I'm a union member and our payments come through on a different cycle because of how standby claims work.

Been collecting for 8 months now and here's what I've learned: File Sunday morning, payment processes Tuesday night, money shows up Wednesday. If you file late Sunday or Monday, you might get pushed to the next cycle and have to wait until the following week.

Just want to clarify - Washington ESD processes payments Tuesday/Wednesday but the actual deposit timing depends on your bank. Direct deposits usually show up early morning on the processing day but can sometimes take until the next business day.

Oliver Becker
•This is accurate. The state processes it but your bank controls when you actually see the money in your account.
