Washington ESD unemployment appeal was reversed when do I get paid?

My unemployment appeal hearing was last Thursday and I just got the decision today saying it was reversed in my favor! Washington ESD originally denied my claim back in September saying I quit voluntarily but the judge agreed that I was actually constructively discharged due to unsafe working conditions. Now I'm wondering how long it takes to actually get the backpay? The decision letter doesn't give any timeline for when payments will start. Has anyone been through this process before?

Congratulations on winning your appeal! Usually takes 1-2 weeks for the payments to process after a reversal. Washington ESD has to update your claim in their system and calculate all the back weeks you're owed.

0 coins

Thanks! That's reassuring. I was worried something else was wrong since it's been radio silent.

0 coins

yeah same timeline for me last year, took about 10 business days before I saw the lump sum hit my account

0 coins

Congratulations on winning your appeal! From what I understand, it can take 2-4 weeks for Washington ESD to process the payment after a favorable appeal decision. They have to update your claim in their system and calculate all the back pay.

0 coins

Thanks! 2-4 weeks feels like forever when you're behind on everything but at least there's a timeline.

0 coins

Mei Liu

I had a similar situation and it was closer to 3 weeks before I saw anything. The lump sum was nice though!

0 coins

Congrats on winning your appeal! From what I remember when mine was reversed, it took about 2-3 weeks for the first payment to hit my account. They had to recalculate everything and process all the back weeks.

0 coins

Thanks! Did you get all the back pay in one lump sum or was it spread out over multiple payments?

0 coins

Mine came as one big payment covering all the weeks I should have been paid, then regular weekly payments started after that.

0 coins

Make sure you keep filing your weekly claims during this waiting period. Even though the appeal is resolved, you still need to maintain your claim to continue receiving benefits going forward.

0 coins

Oh good point! I've been filing them but wasn't sure if I needed to since the appeal was pending.

0 coins

Definitely keep filing. The back pay and ongoing benefits are processed separately in their system.

0 coins

Congrats on winning your appeal! That's a huge relief. From what I remember when this happened to my brother, it took about 2-3 weeks for the payments to start showing up after the reversal decision.

0 coins

Thanks! Did he get all the backpay at once or was it spread out over several payments?

0 coins

I think it came in chunks, not all at once. But he did get everything he was owed eventually.

0 coins

You should call Washington ESD to confirm they received the appeal decision and ask about the status. Sometimes there can be delays if they're waiting for additional documentation or if there are system issues.

0 coins

I've tried calling but keep getting the busy signal. Is there a better time to call?

0 coins

Good luck getting through to anyone at Washington ESD. I've been trying for weeks on a different issue.

0 coins

You should see the money within 10-15 business days typically. Washington ESD has to process the reversal through their system and recalculate your benefit amount for each week you were denied. Make sure you keep filing your weekly claims even while waiting for the back pay to process.

0 coins

I've been continuing to file weekly claims the whole time, even during the appeal process. Good to know about the 10-15 day timeframe.

0 coins

Wait, you're supposed to keep filing weekly claims during an appeal? I stopped filing when I got denied and now I'm worried I messed something up.

0 coins

@profile8 You should always keep filing weekly claims even if you're appealing. Contact Washington ESD to see if you can backfile for the weeks you missed.

0 coins

I had a similar situation last year and honestly the hardest part was just getting through to someone at Washington ESD to check on the status. I kept calling but could never get past the busy signal. Eventually found this service called Claimyr that helped me get through to an actual agent who could tell me exactly where my payment was in the system. Might be worth checking out claimyr.com if you need to talk to someone about your timeline.

0 coins

How does that work exactly? I've been trying to call Washington ESD for weeks but can never get through.

0 coins

Claimyr basically calls Washington ESD for you and gets you connected to an agent. There's a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ that shows how it works. Saved me hours of trying to call myself.

0 coins

If you're having trouble reaching Washington ESD by phone, I recently discovered this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that helped me get through to an actual agent. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ that shows how it works. Might be worth checking out since you need to verify your appeal payment status.

0 coins

Never heard of that before. Is it legit? I'm desperate enough to try anything at this point.

0 coins

I've seen people mention Claimyr on other threads. Seems like it helps with the phone connection issues everyone's having with Washington ESD.

0 coins

Anything that helps get through to Washington ESD sounds good to me. The phone system is impossible.

0 coins

If you're having trouble getting through to Washington ESD to check on your payment status, I used claimyr.com recently and it actually worked. They have a service that calls for you and gets you connected to an actual agent. There's a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ showing how it works.

0 coins

How much does that cost though? I'm already broke waiting for my benefits.

0 coins

They don't charge upfront or anything, it's just to help you get through the phone system. Way better than sitting on hold for hours.

0 coins

Might try this if I don't see anything by next week. The phone system is impossible.

0 coins

You'll need to keep filing your weekly claims even though you haven't been getting paid during the appeal process. Washington ESD should process all the backpay for the weeks you were eligible but not paid. Usually takes 2-4 weeks after the appeal decision for the system to update and release payments.

0 coins

I have been filing weekly claims this whole time, so that's good. Should I expect any issues with the backpay calculation?

0 coins

The system should calculate it automatically based on your filed claims. If there are any discrepancies, you can contact Washington ESD to review it.

0 coins

I went through this exact same situation last year. After my appeal was reversed, I had to wait about 3 weeks before I saw any money. The frustrating part was trying to get someone at Washington ESD on the phone to check the status. I must have called hundreds of times and kept getting the busy signal or got disconnected.

0 coins

That's exactly what I'm worried about! I've been trying to call but can never get through.

0 coins

I ended up using this service called Claimyr that calls Washington ESD for you and gets you connected to an actual agent. Check out claimyr.com - they have a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ that shows how it works. It was honestly a lifesaver.

0 coins

Never heard of that before but I'm desperate at this point. Anything is better than hitting redial 200 times a day.

0 coins

Make sure you keep filing your weekly claims even though you're waiting for the back pay. Don't let your claim go inactive while they're processing the appeal reversal.

0 coins

Yes I'm still filing weekly. Good reminder though - I almost forgot last week because I was focused on the appeal.

0 coins

Definitely keep filing. If you miss weeks while waiting for back pay, it can create additional complications.

0 coins

ugh the whole appeals process is such a nightmare. took me 3 months to get my reversal and then another month to actually see the money. washington esd moves so slow

0 coins

3 months for the appeal?? Mine only took about 6 weeks from start to finish. Maybe it depends on the type of case?

0 coins

probably, mine was more complicated because my employer was fighting it hard and kept submitting more documents

0 coins

Check your SecureAccess Washington account to see if there are any pending issues that might delay your payment. Sometimes even after a successful appeal, there can be other flags on your account that need to be cleared first.

0 coins

Good tip! I just checked and everything looks clear. Shows my appeal was approved but payment status is still showing 'processing'.

0 coins

That processing status can take forever to update. The actual payment might come before the website even updates.

0 coins

I went through this exact situation 8 months ago. Won my appeal but then had to wait 3 weeks for payment because they had to recalculate everything manually. The back pay came as one big lump sum though which was nice.

0 coins

Three weeks?? That's so long when you're already behind on bills from being disqualified.

0 coins

I know, it's frustrating. But once it comes through you get everything you were owed plus interest in some cases.

0 coins

The backpay process is pretty straightforward once the appeal decision is entered into the system. Washington ESD has to update your claim status, recalculate all your eligible weeks, and then process the payments. This usually happens within 10-15 business days of the appeal decision date.

0 coins

That's more specific than what I got from the decision letter. Do you know if they pay interest on the delayed payments?

0 coins

No, Washington ESD doesn't pay interest on delayed unemployment benefits, even if the delay was due to their incorrect initial decision.

0 coins

wait so you can appeal unemployment decisions?? I got denied for supposedly not looking for work hard enough but I was definitely doing my job searches. how do you even start an appeal?

0 coins

Yes, you can appeal most Washington ESD decisions. You should have received an appeal form with your denial notice. You typically have 30 days from the date of the decision to file an appeal.

0 coins

I think I threw that paperwork away thinking it was just standard stuff. Can I still appeal if it's been like 6 weeks?

0 coins

You might be able to file a late appeal if you have good cause for missing the deadline. Contact Washington ESD immediately to discuss your options.

0 coins

Did you have to do anything special after getting the appeal decision? Like notify Washington ESD or does it happen automatically?

0 coins

It should be automatic. The appeals office sends the decision to the benefit payment system directly.

0 coins

Yeah I didn't have to do anything extra. Just waiting for the system to catch up.

0 coins

Mei Liu

When I won my appeal last year, it took exactly 18 days for the payment to hit my account. They paid everything in one lump sum - all the back weeks plus the waiting week. Check your SecureAccess Washington account to see if there are any pending issues.

0 coins

18 days gives me hope! I'm at day 10 so maybe soon. My SAW account doesn't show any issues right now.

0 coins

That's encouraging. Did you get any notification before the payment or did it just show up?

0 coins

Mei Liu

It just showed up in my account one morning. No advance notice at all.

0 coins

This whole system is so backwards. You have to fight tooth and nail just to get benefits you're entitled to, then wait weeks more to actually see the money. Meanwhile bills don't stop coming.

0 coins

Tell me about it. I've been surviving on credit cards for months while fighting this.

0 coins

It's designed to wear you down so you'll just give up. Glad you stuck with it and won your appeal.

0 coins

just be patient, the system is slow but they will pay you everything youre owed. i got like 4 months of back pay when mine finally went through

0 coins

Four months back pay sounds amazing right about now! Fingers crossed mine processes soon.

0 coins

You should receive a letter or notice once the payments are processed explaining the amount and time period covered. Keep an eye on your SecureAccess Washington account too - sometimes the payment shows up there before it hits your bank.

0 coins

Good tip about checking SAW first. I'll start monitoring that more closely.

0 coins

Yeah mine showed up in SAW like 2 days before the actual deposit

0 coins

Make sure you have direct deposit set up if you haven't already. When the back pay comes through, it's usually a pretty big amount and you don't want to wait for a check to arrive in the mail.

0 coins

Yes, I have direct deposit set up from when I originally filed. Hopefully that will speed things up.

0 coins

Definitely will. Paper checks can add another week or two to the process.

0 coins

I'm so nervous about my own appeal hearing next week. What kind of evidence did you present to win yours?

0 coins

I had documentation showing my employer's policy violations and witness statements from coworkers. The key was proving I was terminated without just cause.

0 coins

Thanks, that gives me some hope. I have similar documentation for my case.

0 coins

Good luck with your hearing! Make sure to be organized and stick to the facts during your testimony.

0 coins

One thing to keep in mind is that your back pay might push you into a higher tax bracket for the year since it's all being paid at once. You might want to set aside some money for taxes.

0 coins

Oh wow, I hadn't thought about the tax implications. Thanks for the heads up!

0 coins

You can have taxes withheld from your unemployment payments if you want. There's an option in your account settings.

0 coins

The whole appeal process is such a nightmare. I'm glad you won but it's ridiculous how long everything takes with Washington ESD.

0 coins

Tell me about it. The whole thing took 4 months from initial denial to getting the appeal decision.

0 coins

4 months?? That's insane. How are people supposed to survive that long without income?

0 coins

I'm going through an appeal right now and this is helpful to know. Did you have a lawyer or represent yourself?

0 coins

I represented myself. Spent a lot of time preparing but it was worth it. The key was having all my documentation organized.

0 coins

Thanks, that gives me confidence. I'm representing myself too and was worried about it.

0 coins

One thing to watch out for - make sure all your weekly claims during the appeal period were filed correctly. If you made any mistakes on those, it could delay your backpay while they sort it out.

0 coins

I tried to be really careful with those. What kind of mistakes usually cause problems?

0 coins

Things like reporting work or earnings incorrectly, or not properly documenting your job search activities. Small errors can trigger additional review.

0 coins

This whole system is such a mess. Why does it take weeks to pay someone after they've already proven they deserve the benefits?

0 coins

Because Washington ESD's computer system is from the stone age. Everything has to be done manually when there's an appeal reversal.

0 coins

So ridiculous. People are struggling financially and they make us wait even longer.

0 coins

honestly just be patient, the money will come eventually. i know its hard when youre behind on bills but washington esd doesnt move any faster no matter how much you stress about it

0 coins

I know you're right, it's just frustrating when you've already been waiting so long through the whole appeal process.

0 coins

Also keep in mind that your backpay will be subject to taxes. Washington ESD will withhold federal taxes if you had that option selected, but you might want to set aside some money for state taxes depending on your situation.

0 coins

Good point. With several months of backpay hitting at once, that could bump me into a higher tax bracket for this year.

0 coins

Actually unemployment benefits are taxed as regular income so it shouldn't affect your tax bracket calculation that much. But definitely something to plan for.

0 coins

Just curious what your appeal was about? I might be facing a similar situation.

0 coins

They initially said I was fired for misconduct but it was really a layoff. I had all the documentation from my employer proving it was due to budget cuts.

0 coins

That's exactly my situation! This gives me hope for my appeal.

0 coins

Documentation is key in misconduct cases. Make sure you have everything in writing from your employer.

0 coins

If you really need to know the exact status of your payment processing, I'd recommend using that Claimyr service I mentioned earlier. When I was waiting for my reversed appeal payment, being able to actually talk to a Washington ESD agent and get a real timeline was worth it for my peace of mind.

0 coins

Is Claimyr expensive? I'm already strapped for cash waiting for my benefits.

0 coins

I thought it was reasonable for what it does - getting you directly connected to Washington ESD agents without the usual phone runaround. Much better than spending hours trying to call myself.

0 coins

Just wanted to follow up on the Claimyr thing I mentioned earlier. I was skeptical at first too but it really does work. Instead of spending hours trying to get through, they handle all the calling and connect you directly to a Washington ESD agent when one becomes available. Super convenient.

0 coins

How much does something like that cost though? I'm already tight on money from being unemployed.

0 coins

It's worth checking out their site for current pricing. For me it was definitely worth it compared to the time and frustration I was wasting trying to call myself.

0 coins

Congratulations on winning your appeal! That's a huge relief. I'm still waiting to hear back on mine after the hearing two weeks ago.

0 coins

Thank you! How long did they say it would take to get the decision?

0 coins

They said 2-4 weeks but I'm hoping it comes sooner. The waiting is the worst part.

0 coins

Has anyone else used that Claimyr service mentioned earlier? I'm curious if it actually works for getting through to Washington ESD.

0 coins

I used it last month when I needed to check on my adjudication status. Got through to an agent in about 20 minutes instead of spending hours trying to call.

0 coins

That sounds too good to be true but at this point I'll try anything to reach Washington ESD.

0 coins

If it's been more than 2 weeks without any payment or communication, definitely call Washington ESD to follow up. Sometimes there can be technical glitches that prevent the automatic processing.

0 coins

Will do. Hopefully it doesn't come to that but good to know the timeline.

0 coins

That's where claimyr.com really helps - getting through to actually talk to someone instead of getting the runaround

0 coins

Congrats on winning! What was your appeal about if you don't mind me asking? I might need to file one myself.

0 coins

It was a misconduct disqualification that I disagreed with. Had to provide evidence showing I didn't do what they claimed.

0 coins

Good to know appeals can work. Gives me hope for my situation.

0 coins

Just to add to what others have said - once your payment does start processing, you should receive a determination letter explaining the back pay calculation. This will show exactly which weeks you're being paid for and the amounts.

0 coins

That's helpful to know. I'll watch for that letter to make sure everything is calculated correctly.

0 coins

Exactly. And if there are any discrepancies, you'll want to address them right away while the case is still fresh.

0 coins

mine took exactly 12 days after the appeal decision before i saw the money. hang in there!

0 coins

That gives me a good target to aim for. Thanks for sharing your timeline!

0 coins

The good news is that once Washington ESD processes your reversal, future payments should come on the regular schedule without any issues. The hard part is behind you now.

0 coins

That's what I'm hoping for! Just need to get through this waiting period for the back pay.

0 coins

make sure you keep all your documentation from the appeal in case there are any issues later. sometimes they mess up the payment calculations

0 coins

Good advice, I'm keeping copies of everything in a folder.

0 coins

The waiting is the worst part. I know exactly how you feel. At least you know the money is coming though!

0 coins

Yeah trying to stay positive. It's just hard when bills are piling up and you're waiting on money you're legally entitled to.

0 coins

The whole system is broken. People shouldn't have to wait months for money they're owed.

0 coins

UPDATE: I actually tried that Claimyr service and got through to Washington ESD in about 20 minutes! The agent confirmed that my appeal decision was processed and backpay should start showing up within 2 weeks. She also verified all my weekly claims looked good. Way better than banging my head against the wall trying to call.

0 coins

Awesome! Glad it worked out for you. Makes such a difference to actually talk to someone who can give you real information.

0 coins

Ok you've convinced me. Going to try this for my own issues with Washington ESD.

0 coins

Still ridiculous that we need to pay a third party service just to contact a government agency, but at least there's a solution that works.

0 coins

One more thing - make sure Washington ESD has your correct direct deposit information. Sometimes payments get delayed if there are banking issues.

0 coins

Good point. I double-checked and everything looks correct in my account. Same bank info I've been using for weekly claims.

0 coins

Mei Liu

Yeah that's important. I've heard of people waiting extra weeks because of wrong bank account numbers.

0 coins

Winning an appeal is huge! Most people don't even try to fight the initial decision. Good for you for not giving up.

0 coins

Thanks! It was definitely worth the stress and preparation. I almost didn't appeal because it seemed overwhelming.

0 coins

This is encouraging me to move forward with my appeal. I was on the fence about whether it was worth it.

0 coins

This thread is giving me hope for my own situation. It's encouraging to see someone actually win their appeal and get the benefits they deserved.

0 coins

Don't give up! The appeal process is stressful but it's worth fighting for if you were wrongfully denied.

0 coins

make sure your direct deposit info is still current in the system, sometimes appeals can mess with account settings

0 coins

Oh wow I didn't think of that. I'll double check my banking info in SAW.

0 coins

That's actually a really good point. Account changes during appeals can cause payment delays.

0 coins

Were you able to work while your appeal was pending? I'm confused about the rules during the appeal process.

0 coins

You can work during an appeal, but you still need to report any earnings on your weekly claims.

0 coins

I did some part-time work and reported it all. Shouldn't affect the back pay calculation.

0 coins

The waiting is the worst part after you've already been through the stress of the appeal hearing. But Washington ESD does eventually come through with the payments.

0 coins

Yeah the hearing was nerve-wracking enough. Now just want to see those payments!

0 coins

Check if you owe any taxes on the back pay amount. Sometimes they withhold taxes automatically but not always on appeal reversals.

0 coins

Good point about taxes. I'll make sure to set some aside when the payment comes.

0 coins

You can adjust your tax withholding preferences in your SecureAccess Washington account if needed.

0 coins

At least you won your appeal! I'm still waiting for my hearing date and it's been 2 months since I requested it.

0 coins

That's rough. The whole process takes way too long. Hope you get your hearing scheduled soon.

0 coins

Appeal hearings are backlogged right now. You can check the status online or call for updates.

0 coins

When you do get paid, you'll probably get separate deposits for each week you were owed. That's how mine came through.

0 coins

Interesting, I was expecting one lump sum. Either way works as long as I get it all!

0 coins

Mine came as a lump sum. Might depend on how their system processes the particular case.

0 coins

Keep us posted on when you finally get paid! Always good to know the actual timelines people are experiencing with Washington ESD.

0 coins

Will definitely update the thread once I see the payments. Could help others in similar situations.

0 coins

Congrats again on the successful appeal. The system puts people through hell but at least justice prevailed in your case.

0 coins

Thanks! It was definitely stressful but worth fighting for what I was owed.

0 coins

just remember if you need to talk to someone at washington esd about the payment delay, that claimyr service mentioned earlier really does work better than trying to call yourself

0 coins

Good reminder. If I don't see movement by early next week I'll definitely look into that option.

0 coins

Quick question - did you have to pay back any benefits while your appeal was pending?

0 coins

No, since I was disqualified from the beginning I wasn't receiving any benefits during the appeal process. That's why I'm so anxious to get the back pay now.

0 coins

Got it, that makes sense. I was confused about the timeline.

0 coins

For what it's worth, I think 10 days is still within the normal processing time. Try to be patient for another week or two before panicking.

0 coins

You're right. I'm just anxious because I've been waiting so long already. But 10 days isn't that long in Washington ESD time.

0 coins

Washington ESD time is like dog years - everything takes 7 times longer than it should!

0 coins

I had a reversal last year and the payment came through on a Wednesday morning. No idea if that's typical but just wanted to share the timing.

0 coins

Interesting! I'll keep an eye out on Wednesday mornings. Did you get an email notification or just noticed it in your account?

0 coins

Just noticed it when I checked my bank account. No notification from Washington ESD at all.

0 coins

The fact that you won your appeal is the hard part. Now it's just waiting for the bureaucracy to catch up. Hang in there!

0 coins

Thanks for the encouragement! You're right - winning was the hardest part. I can handle waiting a little longer.

0 coins

Yeah the appeal hearing is nerve-wracking. Payment processing is just annoying waiting.

0 coins

Try checking your payment history in SecureAccess Washington daily. Sometimes the payment shows up there before it hits your bank account.

0 coins

Good tip! I'll start checking SAW every morning. I usually only check when I file my weekly claim.

0 coins

That's smart. The online account usually updates before the actual payment posts to your bank.

0 coins

Just to add another data point - my appeal reversal payment took 16 days. But this was during a really busy period so yours might be faster.

0 coins

16 days is still reasonable. I'm at 10 days so hopefully within the next week. Thanks for sharing your experience!

0 coins

Mei Liu

These timeline reports are really helpful. Gives people realistic expectations instead of just guessing.

0 coins

Last thought - if you don't see payment by day 21, definitely call Washington ESD or use that Claimyr service to follow up. Something might need manual processing.

0 coins

Good advice. I'll give it until day 21 and then definitely follow up. Hopefully it won't come to that though.

0 coins

Yeah Claimyr worked well for me when I needed to check on delayed payments. Much easier than trying to get through normally.

0 coins

21 days seems like a reasonable cutoff for following up. That gives them plenty of time for normal processing.

0 coins

Congratulations again on winning your appeal! Hope you see that payment soon and can get caught up on everything.

0 coins

Thank you! This thread has been really helpful and reassuring. Nice to know I'm not the only one who's been through this process.

0 coins

That's what these forums are for! We've all been through the Washington ESD maze at some point.

0 coins

One more tip - when you do get your back pay, consider setting up a separate savings account to put some of it aside. Having that cushion really helps if you run into any future issues with your claim.

0 coins

That's smart thinking. I'll definitely put some aside once I catch up on my immediate bills.

0 coins

The waiting after an appeal reversal is almost as stressful as waiting for the appeal decision itself! But you made it through the hardest part.

0 coins

So true! At least now I know the money is coming, it's just a matter of when.

0 coins

For anyone else reading this thread who might be in a similar situation - document everything during your appeal process and keep detailed records. It makes everything smoother if you need to follow up later.

0 coins

Thanks for that advice. I'm documenting everything for my upcoming hearing.

0 coins

Just want to mention again that if anyone needs to actually speak with Washington ESD about their appeal or payment status, Claimyr has been a lifesaver for me. Sometimes you just need to talk to a real person instead of guessing about timelines online.

0 coins

I might give that a try if I don't see my payment by next week. Thanks for sharing that resource.

0 coins

update us when you get your payment! always good to hear success stories on here

0 coins

Will do! Hopefully it'll be soon and I can share some good news.

0 coins

Great to hear you got confirmation on the timeline. Two weeks is pretty typical for appeal reversals. The system has to go through several steps: updating your claim status, recalculating benefit amounts, processing all the backdated weekly claims, and then issuing payments.

0 coins

The agent mentioned something about a 'mass adjustment' process. Do you know what that means?

0 coins

That's when they process multiple weeks of benefits at once rather than individually. It's faster but can sometimes cause temporary display issues in your account while it's processing.

0 coins

been there done that with the appeal process. once you win just be patient, the money will come. took me about 3 weeks but i got every penny i was owed going back 4 months

0 coins

That's reassuring. Were there any issues with the amount or did it calculate correctly?

0 coins

all correct in my case. washington esd may be slow but their computers are pretty good at the math once they get going

0 coins

So I looked into the appeal thing more and found my paperwork. Turns out I still have a few days left to file. Thanks for the heads up about the 30 day deadline!

0 coins

Great! Make sure you provide detailed documentation about your job search activities. Keep copies of everything you submit.

0 coins

Yeah I've been keeping better records now. Lesson learned the hard way.

0 coins

Constructive discharge cases can be tricky but sounds like you had good documentation. What kind of unsafe conditions were you dealing with if you don't mind sharing?

0 coins

It was a manufacturing job where they weren't following OSHA safety protocols. I reported it multiple times and they basically retaliated by making my work environment hostile until I had to leave.

0 coins

Classic constructive discharge situation. Good thing you documented the safety reports and retaliation. That probably made your case much stronger.

0 coins

The 2-4 week timeline sounds about right based on what I've seen. Washington ESD has gotten better at processing appeals quickly but the payment system still takes time to catch up once the decision is made.

0 coins

At least now I have a realistic timeframe instead of just wondering and worrying.

0 coins

Exactly. The unknown waiting is the worst part of this whole process.

0 coins

Make sure you check your claim status online regularly during this period. Sometimes there are additional steps required that they don't always communicate clearly.

0 coins

Good advice. I'll keep logging in to check for any new notices or requirements.

0 coins

Yeah, I learned that the hard way when I missed a verification requirement that delayed my payments by another week.

0 coins

Won my appeal last year and the backpay was definitely life-changing after months of financial stress. Hang in there, you're almost at the finish line!

0 coins

Thanks for the encouragement! It's been a really tough few months but hopefully this nightmare is almost over.

0 coins

It really is. Getting that first backpay deposit is such a relief after all the stress and uncertainty.

0 coins

UPDATE: Used Claimyr myself and finally got through to Washington ESD about my own claim issues. Took about 30 minutes but way better than the weeks I've been trying to call on my own. Worth every penny.

0 coins

Nice! Glad it worked for you too. Amazing what a difference it makes to actually reach a human being.

0 coins

See, told you it was worth trying! Makes me feel better knowing other people are having success with it too.

Just want to add that if anyone else is waiting on appeal payments, don't forget to keep doing your work search requirements during this period. I know it seems pointless but Washington ESD can still audit those weeks even after the appeal is resolved.

Good point. I've been keeping up with my job searches but definitely felt like I was going through the motions while fighting the appeal.

Yeah it feels weird but better safe than sorry. You don't want them finding another reason to hold up your payments.

Congrats on the appeal win! It takes guts to fight Washington ESD when you're already stressed about money and job hunting. Hopefully your experience helps other people realize they have options when they get wrongfully denied.

Thanks! Honestly I almost gave up several times but I knew I was right and couldn't afford to just walk away from months of benefits.

That's exactly the right attitude. Too many people just accept the initial denial and don't realize they can fight it.

Congrats on winning your appeal! I went through something similar last year with a wrongful termination case. The wait for backpay after getting the favorable decision is nerve-wracking, but from what I experienced, Washington ESD usually processes appeal reversals within 2-3 weeks. The hardest part is behind you now - actually winning the hearing. The payment processing is just bureaucratic delays at this point. Keep filing your weekly claims and checking your SecureAccess Washington account regularly. You should see the payment status change before the money actually hits your bank account. Hang in there!
