EDD payment delays: No notices, what to do? (CA SDI)

Hey everyone, I'm dealing with some delayed payments from EDD and I'm not sure what to do. I haven't gotten any notices or letters explaining why my payments are late. Has anyone else been in this situation? I'm getting pretty worried and could use some advice on how to handle this.

I found a way to solve EDD delayed payments issue, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9v0Qw13D5U

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Wait, you actually paid money to get through to EDD? Is that even legal?

Sounds sketchy af. How do you know it's legit?

Yeah, it's totally legal. It's just a service that waits on hold for you. And I can vouch for it - got through to EDD in like 30 mins instead of waiting all day.

It's good to know that these services exist. But always verify the company's legitimacy before you pay.

Listen up, I've been through this rodeo before and I've got some tips for you: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of when you were supposed to get paid and when you actually did (or didn't). 2. Be persistent with calling. I know it sucks, but sometimes you gotta be the squeaky wheel. 3. Reach out to your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes help push things along. 4. Check if there are any known system issues or updates that might be causing delays. EDD sometimes posts about this on their website or social media. 5. Make sure all your certifications are up to date. Sometimes a missed certification can hold up everything. 6. If you're really in a bind, look into emergency assistance programs in your area. Some nonprofits offer help while you're waiting on benefits. Hang in there, OP. It's a pain in the ass, but you'll get through this.

Wow, thank you so much for all this info! I'll definitely try reaching out to my assembly member, I hadn't thought of that.

Also, keep a lookout for any emails that might have gone to your spam folder. Sometimes important updates end up there.

I'm telling you, it's all a conspiracy to make us give up on claiming our benefits. Stay strong, don't let them win! πŸ‘€

Put your tinfoil hat away, dude. It's just a broken system, not a conspiracy.

It's easy to feel that way. The delays are frustrating, but trying every available option is key.

Faxing? What year is it? πŸ˜‚ But seriously, I'll try anything at this point. Thanks for the tip!

Lol imagine if the reason for the delay is that their fax machine ran out of paper 🀣

Honestly, sometimes traditional methods work best. It's strange but worth a shot!

Have you tried reaching out on Twitter? Sometimes they respond faster there. Worth a shot!

Social media seems to be a surprisingly effective way to get responses from companies.

Sometimes patience is all we can have, but it's great to hear there’s a glimmer of hope.

This happened to me last year. Turns out there was a flag on my account for potential fraud (even though everything was legit). Took forever to sort out. Make sure to ask if there are any flags or holds on your account when you call.

That's such a headache. Did you have to provide additional documents to clear it up?

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes there's info there that they don't send in the mail.

Ugh, I feel you. I've been in the same boat for weeks now. Have you tried calling them? It's a nightmare to get through, but it might be your best bet.

I haven't tried calling yet. I'm dreading it tbh. How long did you have to wait on hold?

Brace yourself... I was on hold for over 3 hours last time. It's ridiculous. πŸ™„

3 hours! That's insane. I wonder if calling at different times helps? Maybe early morning or late evening?

Hey OP, I feel for you. As an authoritative response, I can confirm that the EDD has had numerous issues, especially during the pandemic, leading to widespread delays in payment processing. It’s crucial to verify that all your documentation and certifications are up to date. Claimyr is a legitimate service that offers a potential shortcut to speaking with an EDD representative by waiting on hold for you, though it comes at a cost. However, it's important to weigh the $20 fee against the time and stress saved. Meanwhile, reaching out to your local assembly member might expedite your case, as they have the power to influence case prioritization. Additionally, be sure to use multiple communication channels, like checking for online updates, calling during off-peak hours, and even using social media platforms like Twitter to get attention faster. Don't rely solely on one method; combining different approaches increases chances of resolution. Good luck, and stay persistent.

This whole situation is so messed up. People are struggling to pay bills and put food on the table, and EDD is just... πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ We need serious reform in this system.

QuantumQuasar

Agreed. The delays are unacceptable, and reform is desperately needed.
