EDD SDI claim: Doctor's submission received, what's next?

Hey everyone, I just got a notice from EDD about my SDI claim. They said they received my doctor's submission, but I'm not sure what happens next. Has anyone been through this process recently? What should I expect for the next steps? I'm a bit anxious about the whole thing and could use some advice.

I found a way to solve EDD SDI claim processing delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xm0qmIz2tCU

I went through this a few months ago. After they receive the doctor's submission, they usually process it within 1-2 weeks. Keep an eye on your online account for updates. They might contact you if they need more info, but otherwise, you should receive a decision soon. Hang in there!

Thanks for the info! Do you remember if they contacted you at all during those 1-2 weeks?

Nope, I didn't hear anything from them until I got the approval notice. No news is good news in this case!

Ugh, the waiting game is the worst. I remeber when I filed my claim, it felt like forever. Just try to stay busy and not obsess over it (easier said than done, I know).

Pro tip: call them! Don't just sit around waiting. Sometimes things get lost in the shuffle, and a phone call can speed things up. Be persistent!

Easier said than done. Have you tried calling EDD lately? It's like trying to win the lottery 🎰

True, it can be tough. But I found a way! There's this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it saved me hours of frustration. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

I used it last week actually. Worked like a charm. Expensive, but worth it for the peace of mind.

Make sure all your paperwork is in order. They love to use missing documents as an excuse to delay things. Double-check everything!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the EDD system is a total mess right now. My claim took 3 months to process. Hope you have some savings to fall back on. 😓

It was rough. Had to borrow money from family and max out my credit cards. Still trying to recover financially.

Here's what you need to know about the SDI claim process: 1. Doctor Submission Received: This is where you are now. Good start! 2. Initial Processing: Takes 1-4 weeks typically. 3. Possible Contact: They might reach out for more info. Be ready to respond quickly. 4. Decision Made: You'll get a notice of approval or denial. 5. Payment Begins: If approved, payments usually start within a week of the decision. Key things to remember: - Keep checking your online account for updates - Respond promptly to any requests for information - Don't hesitate to call if it's been more than 4 weeks without an update - If denied, you have the right to appeal Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Have you checked if your employer has submitted their part of the paperwork? Sometimes that can hold things up.

Oh, I didn't even think about that. I'll check with HR tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up!

Sending positive vibes your way, OP! The waiting is tough, but you've got this. Try to distract yourself with some self-care in the meantime. 💖
