EDD Medical Forms Still Pending After a Month - What to Do?

I submitted my medical forms to EDD over a month ago, but they still show as pending. I'm getting frustrated because I need an update on my claim. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do when I finally get through to an agent?

Natalie Chen

Ugh, I feel ya. EDD is such a mess rn. When you get through (IF you get through lol), make sure to: 1. Ask for specifics on why it's still pending 2. Have any confirmation numbers ready 3. Find out what you need to do next Good luck! 🍀

This is solid advice. I'd also recommend asking for a ticket number or some kind of reference for the call. It helps if you need to follow up later.

Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely come prepared with my confirmation numbers. Fingers crossed I can actually get through to someone 🤞

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Bruh, I've been dealing with this for THREE MONTHS. EDD is a joke. They probably lost your forms or something. Keep calling and don't give up!

Three months?! That's insane. Have you tried contacting your local representative? Sometimes they can help speed things up.

Nah, I haven't. Didn't even know that was an option. Might give it a shot, thx!

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold last week. Also, be super nice to the agent - they deal with angry people all day and might be more willing to help if you're friendly.

This! 👆 Kindness goes a long way. Remember, the agents aren't the ones making the rules.

Anyone else feel like we're living in a Kafka novel? 🤔 The bureaucracy is mind-boggling. Hang in there, OP!

I work in healthcare, and let me tell you, the whole system is a mess rn. COVID backlog + staff shortages = nightmare. Not an excuse, but might explain why things are taking so long. Keep pushing!

Thx for the insider perspective. It's easy to forget there are real people trying their best behind the scenes.

Have you checked your spam folder? I know it sounds dumb, but I missed an important EDD email because it went to spam. Just a thought!

Plot twist: the EDD is actually run by a bunch of sloths 🦥 That's why everything takes foreverrrrr

Hey now, don't insult sloths like that. They're way more efficient than EDD!
